Public
Safety Training, Inc. personnel are homeland security and law enforcement
training professionals. PST, Inc. offers training in leadership,
gender issues, and instructor development. The company established
a reputation for innovative training with such classes as Saving
Our Own Lives, a presentation of the FBI study "Killed
In The Line Of Duty", and Leaders, Battles, and Cops,
a leadership class that looks at America's Civil War to find examples
of leadership and tactics that may be applied to twenty-first century
law enforcement.
Since
the attacks of September 11, 2001, the focus of the company has
been homeland security training. PST, Inc. principals were involved
in the federalization of the airport security screening force, the
largest civilian training initiative since WWII (July 2002). The
company has been heavily involved in maritime security training
under the Maritime Transportation Security Act of 2002 (MTSA.) Working
with the University of Findlay’s Center for Terrorism Preparedness,
PST’s Laurie Thomas is the principal author of the Port Facility
Security Officer 33 CFR 105 course. She was responsible for obtaining
U. S. Maritime Administration approval for the course. She also
designed the following original maritime security/homeland security
